You mean theres another way to drive cross country? I thought that was what the navigation system does? You just go to sleep and wake up at your destination.

Question

gofastman,

I was wondering if you had to have any adjustments done to the clutch in the 161k miles – add any fluid to the slave cylinder etc. Or is the clutch just as good now (161k miles later) then it was on day 1?

Journier,

I am not a trucker either, however I have seen “hot shot” defined as someone who uses their consumer / light duty truck to operate a business towing loads long distances or racking up a lot of miles in a short amount of time like the big trucks (18 + wheels) do.

The pictures i took there are about 8 mths old, but the truck still lokks as good as it did new, i do have a few small rock chips in the front but other than that i still looks great, it gets a bath every 2 or 3 days depending on the weather, i really try to keep it clean an looking nice, i dont park close in parking los like walmart, i park way out to keep the direspecful people from dinging my doors.
I have done nothing to the clutch, it works just as good as new, i am really easy on the clutch.

It does look good! I wish I had the ambition to wash mine and keep it clean more often. But it's my work truck as well as our vacation tow vehicle. I have one pic in my gallery. While on our return trip yesterday heading north across the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, the wind from the north was so strong it was scarey crossing the bridge with the 5th wheel on. Coming down the north side of the bridge at 65mph, alluva sudden we heard what sounded like we ran over a big sheet of metel. When I looked in the mirrors I saw the metal sheeting under the 5th wheel's overhang had ripped out around the pinbox and was beating the bedrails of our truck. All I could do was slow down to about 55mph in hopes it wouldn't rip all the way off or do more damage until we got to a spot to pull off the interstate. So now the top of the right bedrail that I tried so hard to keep nice is all scratched up. Oh well, I won't have to worry about scratching that anymore.
