07-08 Recall for possible fire..??
 

I don't know if this has been brought up but just incase it hasnt....
I was reading in Diesel World that there's a recall on the 2007-2008 HD Rams for the "blanket" (i forgot what it's called) under the hood catching on fire. I dont have the mag in front of me, but i guess it sags enough to touch the motor. Dodge is installing clips to hold it up out of the way.....

Thank you for the information. I have noticed that the blanket is touching on top of the air cleaner intake where the electrical connection is on my Stock 07 5.9.

Summary:
CHRYSLER IS RECALLING 108,429 MY 2007-2008 DODGE RAM 2500 AND 3500 PICKUP TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH 6.7L DIESEL ENGINES. A SILENCER PAD CAN SAG AND CONTACT THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) COOLER.


Consequence:
THIS COULD RESULT IN AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE.


Remedy:
DEALERS WILL ADD A BRACKET TO SUPPORT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT SILENCER PAD ADJACENT TO THE EGR COOLER. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING DECEMBER 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
