Thumbs down 05 Dodge Ram New Headunit Not Working (Infinity System)

Hey DTR,
I've been searching high and low for this issue and have no results. I bought a new headunit for my truck (
Pioneer AVH-1550NEX 6.2 Pioneer AVH-1550NEX 6.2
) and the double din bezel kit.
The kit came with a harness specifically stating the it works with the 05 ram infinity system. After wiring it all up I would get the headunit to power on but play no sound.
Most of the forums I looked through point to the "AMP Turn On Wire" but I dont have that wire coming out of my factory harness.
I called crutchfield and they said they have no information about my year and the best option would be to bypass the amp. ( I would like to keep my factory infinity amp).

So here is my question. What interface do I need and what controller do I need to retain steering wheel controls.

I've add some pictures of my issue. Hopefully someone could point me in the right direction.

Try calling Metra. They should be able to hook you up with an amp and steering wheel control interface. It may easier to run new speaker wires and bypass the amp as opposed to getting to the amp.

Here's my install 03, but I believe 04 and up are different. Mine was pretty much plug and play with the factory wiring harness and I retained functions of the factory amp.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip but I would like to retain my factory amp and not go through the trouble of rewiring the speakers. Unfortunately mine is a bit more difficult then plug and play.

You can make it happen, but you need the interface/harness that connects to the factory amp. The amp is well-hidden, just under the dash on the passenger side. The harness you need will depend on whether you have the "handsfree" option.
