Re:"04 ORDER DATE?

Ok Pard will let everyone know what I find out. I'm sure Cummins Luke's rigs are arriving now as well. As he's much more knowledgeable than I am expect his posts too.

Hope it all comes together (PDI, Running Boards and Alarm) before the end of the day. Have got to install a
Roll n Lock and B/W and Tekonsa by Wednesday. Then a long drive back and a tough week working cattle in the mountains. I'm sure going to get a ribbin' over those Taco Lights.

Re:"04 ORDER DATE?

Took awhile but I finally got it late afternoon. ;D

Unfortunately the delay was cause by the rail yard dispatcher having to write an insurance report for the scratch they put on the front painted bumper before it could be delivered. :-

This truck was definitely worth waiting for. In my opinion, much smoother, powerfull, quieter and more refined that my Ford 7.3. The steering geometry projects a much better feel and the brakes are terrific. The only changes I see from the 03s' were the new steering wheel and rear headrests which are pretty small but they work. I am going back tomorrow for boards and gooseneck and will ask the techs about EGR. As far as I can tell the plumbing isn't there.

Re:"04 ORDER DATE?

Also, at least on the SLT One Ton 3500 it looks like the Cummins HO comes standard ("No Charge" on my invoice) but the 48 RE Auto Tranny was charged at $612. I double checked the engine compartment and 305 HP @ 2900 RPM is now tagged on the right side of the valve cover.

I think Vits truck is the SLT, therefore the interior trim should be unchanged from last year. Its the Laramie that dropped woodgrain plastic for the silver plastic. I never really liked the idea of the wood grain plastic...if its plastic, don't try and make it look otherwise. Whoops my one and only beef about the interior slipped out.

Vittorio, I am getting anxious now...looking forward to all the BOMBs and alterations. ;D

Re:"04 ORDER DATE?

Timing fueling boxes, injectors, air intakes, [Scotty III comes to mind ;D] turbos...twins. ;D
My 01 ran at or above 500 HP for awhile and it ran out well towing and gave great mileage. I did find that the 425 HP range was the best match for the truck and towing though...safe EGT's throughout the range.
I had to watch my rpms on hills towing with more power [a given] that they did not get below 2000 rpm because at 1700-1800 I'd see the temps climbing to 1500 fast but drop fast too. I do believe these engines are going to respond well to alterations.

I am my own Warranty Station and had very few issues anyway.

Re:"04 ORDER DATE?

Sorry boys just got back from the accessories bay. The grill on the sport package is billet style (lateral chrome bars) inside the body matched painted cowl like the 03'. The leather steering wheel is nicer with a aluminum RAM in the center and better positioned radio and cruise controls. I don't believe the truck has EGR plumbing. Will be interesting to see what shows up later in the model year which is I why I moved on buying one now.

Everything else looks pretty much like 03'. I looked for a Laramie to report on but mine was one of the first 04s' in. They had a lipstick red 2500 SLT 4 x 4 in too and if this is the new color it looks like a fire engine and goes like one too.

I wasn't too happy about the scratch since I have to come all the way back (250 miles) to get it done. Good dealer though, they'll take care of me.

This really is a terrific truck. You guys made a believer out of me. ;D
