'03 Climate Control Problem
'03 Laramie Trim w/ slide temp selectors
I have the dual climate zone control, and suddenly my left side blows quite a lot cooler than the right side when asking for heat (both temp slide controls set to same spot).
Even set all-hot for the left side, the air is cooler.
Is this likely a blend door problem or a controller problem?
Any hints welcome-
Bob

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
Could be either of the problems that you mentioned, but betcha that you are just low in freon.

Not to steal anyone's thunder here, but I have a similar question.
No matter where I set the air direction, I can only get air out of the dash vents, no place else. the recirculate works only part time. any help?

Since when using heat only (not defrost that runs the A/C compressor), (i.e., trying to create positive BTUs to heat the truck's interior), I am unaware that any system involving freon is involved?
Possibly my fault for not mentioning that heat was the objective function I was asking about, but where I live in Washington State, staying DRY and staying WARM are the goals this time of year. It has rained 43 of the last 45 days here, so scratch 100% in category 1 (staying dry), and it's recently cooled off and is snowing, so I am attempting number 2 at least.
For the first time, I am forced to leave my truck outside 24/7, and it is now completely green (it is a white truck) from algae growing on the paint.

Right. If this problem is only for hear, then forget what I said about the freon. There are almost endless old threads on this site about blend door problems. Have you done a search?
On my truck I found that to switch the circulation, that the fan needs to be at the lowest setting or else it will not switch.

I was wondering out loud if the temp sensors and computer function (that run the blend doors) are equally suspect to the blend doors themselves.
I drove the truck extensively today and the temp from each side was quite the same, so I am guessing that the sensors and computer rarely become mis-calibrated day to day, so I suspect that it IS INDEED the blend door mechanical functions at blame, and will now concentrate on them.
Up until today, it was a crap-shoot which was the cause, I guess. I will do more specific searches to diagnose what may be sticking at times.
