03 2500 ignition/dash issues

I went to start the truck yesterday and got nothing when I turned the key to the ON and START positions. The dash lights go out and the truck doesnt start. I can start it with the remote start, but when I put the key in and push the brake, the truck dies.

I have checked all fuses, replaced the ignition switch, removed the Edge chip, and still nothing.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

Hey Adam, it seems like your anti-theft system is not recognizing the key you are using. Try your other key to see if it is a key issue or a SKIM issue.

It sure is acting like it does. Do you only have one key? Did you try any others?

I do have more keys, and I did try them. Same result. I think Im going to try the aftermarket remote start next.

Might be a bad connection at the remote start, the ignition feed that puts 12v to the remote starter to signal that you have just put in the key. If that circuit is doing what it's supposed to, I think I'd suspect the remote start module too.
