Trxus STS Tires?

Thinking about the Interco STS radial tires. The 33/12.5 x 18" tire. 10 Ply 2990lb E rating.

How does it hold up and tread wear?

How does it grab while pulling?

I too would like to know the highway life on these. They seem to work really good on the track. There are alot of guys that run them here in Indiana at the pulls.

They will not last long on the street.

Moobesor 05-17-2009 09:44 AM

Why? Have you used them or know of someone who did? Theres a radial and then there is a bias ply.

They are good pulling tires but their street manners aren't the best. They wander back and forth like you're riding on the center of the tire all the time.

You can expect just under 30k from them. like most interco tires, they have a soft rubber compound.

I've seen 2 sets (one ford one cummins) of 35's and they were gone by 30k.

i had these on my 2000 chevy 1/2 ton in a 35x12.5r17, and swore i would never run interco/swamper tires on the highway ever again. They wouldn't balance (on tire took 32 ounces!!), were heavier than my 36x15.5 claws i had after, and were louder than both my 36x15.5r18 claws and 36x15.5r20 MTZs. Stay away IMO. Look into mickey thompson ATZ or Toyo open country A/T, or even Kumho KL71 M/t (heard they were smooth and quiet)

i had some 38 15s on my 12valve and i thought they road ok. but they did start to wear much faster than my BFGs do

Well like Soulezoo said, they are soft rubber, they WONT handle or wear good at all. Swamper were invented for one thing, Handling the mud of South Louisiana, and they do it well....

Another thing to consider is that is an AWFULLY low load rating for an "E" range tire. Most 8-ply tires carry a higher load rating.

If your really set on getting the Swampers, check out there blem list http://www.intercotire.com/news-article.php?article=1

I stop by every so often and the warehouse is always full. BTW seen some of the new 54" Boggers.... Insane.... Swampers were invented in a little town called Rayne (Global Headquaters), which is about 11 miles north of my hometown, so I drop in every once in a while to see what they have new. I really like the new M16 tires.
