Regen?????
Ok, I read about how you can tell when your trucks are going into regen and all. How?
My truck showed the catalyst full mesage Monday. Then it showed catalyst status of 80%. Yesterday when I was headed home the chime rang once and the message showed catalyst full then status of 90%. I decided I better go for a ride and try to clean it out before I have problems. I got the truck to operating temp before I got on the hiway. Not 5 minutes down the hiway status changed to 80%. Within another 5 minutes it was down to 70% and shortly after the message was clear. I am going to assume the truck went into regen but I never noticed anything diferent with the operation or any messages or icons on the dash. Am I missing something? How can you tell if your truck is in regen?
The truck is an 07.5 Bighorn.
I have the parts on the way for a Cali style delete. They are supposed to arrive tomorrow and I hope to have time to install this weekend.
Thanks for the replys in advance.

There is no noticble indication of regen except sudden drop in fuel mileage if you have that showing on overhead with current mpg. If you have a monitor such as an Edge Insight it will show regens as they happen.

I feel I can tell if mine is on regen when I'm shutting the truck off. I hear a sound like when you have a big torch bud burning and shut off the gas...kind of a diminishing blower sound. I figured its the burn function in the dpf stopping due to lack of fuel. Or maybe I'm crazy... As for when its running, what Jeepman said...along with maybe a slight smell of diesel in the cab, which is noticeable only because our dpf'd truck's exhaust doesn't smell like older diesels do.
I've had my truck do the same thing with the 70%-80% message if I spend a bunch of time idling around...like when I'm plowing my driveway. A short stint out on the road usually clears it...until my last round with the EGR needing to be cleaned, too.
