Question Question About Proper Sequence of Deletes and Smarty Install

Have EGR/Cooler/Throttle Valve/DPF deletes. Do these all happen before the Smarty (S-67 ME) gets loaded into the ECM? I ask because I've seen a retail website for the Smarty say the following:

"NOTE: When deleting the DPF with a Smarty tuner, the Smarty must be installed 1st on the truck!!!"

Is this correct?

It is correct if you try and start the engine with those things removed. Otherwise, it doesn't matter so long as the software is loaded before you start the engine.

I always do all of the hardware work, then load the Smarty for its first deleted crank.

I loaded the smarty first, just to make sure it loaded right. I would hate to think that i just spent the time to delete everything and then have an issue that would leave me without a truck a day or so until i got it worked out....or worse yet, i would have to put it all back on !
