Question about 6.7 Diesel
What is the advantage of have a much bigger motor with less HP and the same torque(305/610)? I the potential is there but for such a large motor I'm dissappointed with the announced numbers. These are the number currently posted on the Dodge web site.

Guys, You don't lead with an ace.....its best to keep your cards close and bluff a little low. I would think that the others would be scrambling to get close in hp to what they think DC will market the truck as. The commercial guys don't sweat the hp and tq numbers as much as we do. They don't want Joe Dufus to drive the 400hp 1000tq landscaping truck.
On that note the 360hp and 650tq Dmax is a formidable challenge. If they get a stiff chassis and a better VGT turbo system they will be a comparable truck. ks

I agree with the fleet/power thing, but I will be very dissapointed to loose the HP/TQ numbers to Ferd or even GM. If the new cummins is not upto par in power to the chebby, I think my next one might be a Dmax. Any clue as to what they did to increase size on the cummins?
Thanks.
Thanks.

With all the increased emissions equipment do you think this engine will be hard to bomb? I would certainly like to see this engine be able to get into the 800 ftlb range without a lot of problems. My main worry is the particulate trap, to me thats just asking for problems.

yeah i can see the real numbers being closer to that of the durajoke . i hope so atleast . those durajokers would have a good truck if they got a real front end under it and got rid of that junker thats under it . straight axle all the way . o and if they can ever figure out how to keep a engine together long enough to keep up . im not into rebuilding mine every 150k or so i would rather just a just my valves like i do with a real diesel cummins i cant wait to see what we can pull out of this new 6.7 since we all know that the factory leaves us growing room . it would be no fun if we couldnt have room for bombs
