Instead of dpf delete

I went to my local dealer and was talking to the diesel tech about the dpf delete and he told me that instead of taking the dpf off the truck and having the cel light come on he said to take a 7/8 inch auger bit and drill a hole down thru it he also said not to go any bigger than the 7/8 inch bit because it will then set the cel light with a code but that the 7/8 inch hole will let it breath better.

So who wants to try this first? I'm willing to watch from the sidelines :-)

I wonder what that would do to the regen cycles?

That will not work. You will soot up the rest and have a single 7/8 hole for your exhaust to flow thru restriction. It will probably stop running after it plugs up

Yup and a new DPF is around $2500 USD... Put it on the shelf and deal with aftermarket or punch a hole in it. Either way your warranty is in limbo..

Don't really matter anyways about warranties...If chrysler files for Bankruptcy...your warranties are bye bye..just like the union contracts.

Did you ask this genius technician to show you where he did this on HIS personal truck and what he expected to gain by it?

I wouldn't count on saying bye to those uninion contracts because from what I'm reading Obama is going to guarantee their benefits like he is guaranting the warranties.
