Installing Shibby Engineering Grid Heater
It's best if you plan on installing a Grid Heater delete if you haven't yet. If that is done already, the job is much easier. But again, plan on removing the air horn. It will be better for cleaning and installation. Remember, if you don't clean the surfaces well, it will leak
Tools needed:
10 MM Socket and extension
11 MM Socket
8 MM socket
T15 Torx
The Grid heater delete, you'll need
19 MM Open end wrench
17 MM Box wrench
If doing a grid heater delete and add the Shibby Engineering Heater, allow yourself 2 to 3 hours of solid wrenching.
1. Remove the boost tube Boot and EGR tube if installed. (11MM socket)
2. Disconnect the connections on the back, Sensor, MAP sensor (Bottom) and flapper valve connections
3. remove the retainer bolts from the air Horn at the intake. Note, you must take the short bolts out to get it out. Needle nose pliars are good for that.
4. Once the air horn is off, scrape and clean the gasket off the grid heater plate. (Assuming the grid heater is already out)
5. Remove the throttle valve with the 8MM Socket.
6. Clean the gasket off the flange between the flapper and the air horn. Remove the MAP sensor NOW. T15 Torx This is a good time to clean the MAP sensor too. Some Brake clean will work well. Blow it out.
7. Install the heater grid with new gasket. Be sure to point the electrical connection under the EGR plug.

8. Plug the MAP sensor in.
9. Install your MAP and sensors before you bolt the air horn back down.
10. Re-install the air horn, Do not tighten the bolts untill you have them all started. Remember to reconnect the dipstick.
11. Tighten all your bolts, reinstall the boot and tighten the clamp, then put the cross over tube back in. Finally, connect the grid heater wire to the bolt terminal.
Make sure the cross over tube fits square and the clamps are properly in position. (Don't forget the gaskets) Tighten and double check your work. Make sure you got all your tools out.
12. Fasten your seat belt
