exhaust
so ive read on different sites and different forums that an exhaust system off of a 5.9 can be used on the 6.7. is this true? i know that its not going to have the places for the scensors but with the dpf delete and smarty they arent necessary anyway.

thats what i was wondering. it seems like an exhaust for a 6.7 is more expensive just for the fact that it fits a 6.7. if the 5.9 exhaust will bolt up and its a little cheaper than that sounds like the logical thing to do.

Just make sure that you have a programmer that allows you to run without the sims on the exhaust.

Sure does, Smarty allows for all code free on all deletes with no sims or O2 sensors on the tailpipe. The detailed instructions are on the MADS site.

I bought the mbrp 2006 dodge exhaust for mine and it was a perfect hook up. Mbrp also offers a muffler delete pipe for it 2.
KEEP IN MIND when removing the factory exhaust you will have to loosen up the tranny crossover bracket to get the factory exhuast elbow out. I could not find any other way around it to.

Its not that its not built well, its the sheer size of the down pipe that makes the cross member removal a factor.

When I was teaching the my dealer how to grease the front drive-shaft, they ended up removing the cross memeber to get their tool to the zerk fitting. It was pretty easy to do on the lift and shouldn't be that much harder without... When I did the NOX/DPF delete only, the rear skid plate cross member needed removal since I left the muffler and downstream stock.

yeah as posted before the downpipe is big but it has this flange looking deal almost looks like another sort of emissions thing, im not sure why it looks that or if it does anything but when trying to remove the flange gets caught on the crossmember and the body of the truck.

I did a 5" TBE on mine, you only need to drop the passenger side of the crossmember, its not hard at all, just used a floor jack to support the tranny!
