Deletes vs warranty

Will be ordering smarty and doing some deletes soon on my truck. I know this will loose me some warranty but not sure how much I loose.

I bought extended warranty with truck and I can see dealer claiming every thing under the sun is no longer covered because I modified it. If thats how it works I might as well cancel extended warranty.

"Sorry sir, we would normally cover that failed alternator but the ECM has been tampered with and thats what killed it". Sounds stupid but my dealer / service advisor is very clear that people that have done deletes or used programmers are federal criminals and probably child molesters as well.

Any thoughts?

Shane

Truck is 07 w/ 6.7 & manuals trans.

In order to void your warranty the aftermarket part you install would have to cause the failure.

Now how willing the dealer is to work with you on this is another question. When I did my deletes and Edge I went back to the dealer and spoke with the salesman, service writer and GM and was going to get a refund on my extended warranty. After speaking with them I was told that they would still honor the warranty with the exception of the drivetrain. They said for example, if a/c work needs to be done, or a seat motor goes out, that they would warranty it. But any injectors, tranny issues, etc, and I was on my own.

well that is the reason people would get the extended warranty. To cover the powertrain. Never the less if lets say the dealer found some fuel contaminants in your fuel, not even the extended warranty would cover it. Take it off.

Now that's a fair deal to me.

Yeah Im lucky enough to have a dealer that will actually listen to what you have to say and work with you instead of just yelling, VOIDED WARRANTY over and over again.

Then again they may have liked the fact that I showed up and said I did this, and dont expect yall to pay for it.
