bone STOCK 2007.5 need tuner advice

Son has a stock 2007.5 6.7 auto with 22,000 miles and wants a tuner.
I don`t know much about the 6.7 except for the crapload of environmental/DEQ junk on it(no DEF).
WHAT do you all recommend????????????????
I do not want to lead him down the wrong path.
Thanks in advance

To answer your question we need to know what he wants from the tuner.
Does he want delete tuning, legal tuning or the option for both?
How much control capability does he want? (Does he want to change his own tuning parameters or leave it to the tune writer?)

I wanted both so I purchased a used\delete capable Smarty tuner that had the tuning adjustments I wanted and could run both delete and legal tunes. This tuner has worked well for me running both types of tunes.
I can say that running a legal tune with the egr valve unplugged was very reliable as is running a delete tune with this tuner.

Some don't like them, want custom tuning and are willing to trust the tuner to make their adjustments for them.

Probably the most popular out there right now is EFI tuning. Prices range from basic no frills tuning to custom tuning. If he wants a legal tune along with a delete tune (ability to run both tuning options) then he will have to pay extra to have two tunes written.

There are a few other options out there like H&S tuners but since they're out of business there's no support for them.

So give us a bit more info and we can give you a better answer.

He is absolutely right, depends on what your end goals are with the truck, I have an H&S on my 2011 and on my 06 and they are outstanding, but as said before there is no support for them. Smarty's are fantastic tuners and not to complicated to use. Just wanted to second the above post!!!!
