My 5.9 is all wrong, lol. Once I can get this darn thing paid off my mod list will look more like yours... Maybe then I'll get my mileage??? not! ha ha

Only reason I have a 5.9 is because I wanted to mod!

Anyway, I think the 6.7's are pretty cool, mileage aside...

Had 2 5.9's and now a 6.7 (60,000 miles). The way it is now, I like the 6.7 best. Have had no trouble with the 6.7 always started, never broke down or went into limp mode.

For an extra $1,300 you can have a great 6.7.

No dpf, no egr, no check engine lights, fuel economy equal to a 5.9 and +120 more hp.

H@S have a programmer and Smarty will soon have one that do all that.

I've had both and am probably getting back into a 5.9 again soon but not by choice. I needed to get rid of some debt and that is the only reason my 08 is now gone. If you get a 6.7 just be prepared for the bad mileage and hope you get one that doesn't eventually start throwing codes. Dismantling the emissions equipment will give you outstanding fuel mileage and you will also not have to worry about all those problems. Mine drove great and gave me no problems once I "Adjusted" the emissions equipment. I am actually having a hard time getting back into a 5.9 because I liked my other truck so much.

Thanks guess. Its been good reading. I think I'm leaning toward the 5.9 but don't want to throw the 6.7 out yet. I know the ropes of the 5.9 inside and out though.

X2

I agree whole heartedly....

Stock 6.7 = The diesel worlds equivalent of the Yugo

"Fixed" 6.7 = The black smoke belching monster that will soon start consuming 5.9's by the dozen....

Ok Ok Ok...
That may be a little much, I still love and respect the 5.9, (lest I anger the 5.9 Gods around here ) but the 6.7 is not that bad guys....

I think with the smarty release 6.7 performance will take a step forward. Maybe even one day itll get onto the same page as the 5.9's.

Heck maybe some people can just leave well enought alone and not spends wheelbarrows of cash on a bunch of metal that spins rubber circles...
But then again whats the fun in that.

Just pokin some fun, no grief intended and yes Ill go ahead and admit publicly, the 5.9 is superior to the 6.7. Admittance is the first step to recovery, but I still like mine.

To get back to the topic, Blow, either way you go, you wont be disappointed, just remember 5.9 or 6.7, ITS STILL A CUMMINS.

Havent seen or heard of any numbers on the Smarty yet.

And yes got some river boats within and hour drive of home. Not to mention several Indian reservation casinos a bit closer than that. I go every once in a long while, but that kinda cuts into my truck/scoot/4wheeler/electronics/keep the wifey happy funds.

Although it will probably be expensive, it won't be long before you can swap the 48re for a 6 speed. Then you'll have the best of both worlds, and you'll get even better mpg with the 5.9.

missing the big key point against the 6.7 a little group called the epa as of now they cant touch the 5.9 and probably will never be able to outside of visual checks, but the 6.7 is dead in the water its already a major fine if caught with emission fixes and it will only get worse as the hippies get more power. I dont think alot of companys are going to be putting out many products for the 6.7 cause of all the laws surrounding it. Im sure you have all seen the famous "ats letter about pdi and epa violations" Even if it is fake its a omen as to whats on the horizon. Just wait the epa will make an example out of someone rather soon and the parade will be over.
