I used $180.00 in Diesel on the way down because I got stuck in traffic for 3 hours cus a semi turned over on 75 and I took a nap because I was tired. I only used $120.00 in gas on the way back home. So weather you guys believe me or not doesn't matter to me because I know what I spent and I know how far I drove. It was 990 miles one way and 990 mile back home.
Sounds like you probably got some great mileage. No one is hating, we just would like it if one were to follow the correct protocol for determination with actual data. The computer is an estimate, and bases its guess on many parameters that can vary compared to reality. Pretty sure your real numbers would be very good. Thanks to the members for guessing what the issue may be and providing the protocols for determining MPG. Let us know what you got on your next trip!

Not trying to stir the pot, but every vehiclen I've had that calculates mileage has been very close to actual mileage. My 01 cummins, 08 cummins, 4runner, bmw were all within 1/2 mpg. The 01 cummins was within 2 mpg once I put 38s on it. Im not sure why so many people have issues with theirs. By the way, I do hand calculate every tank because most of my vehicles don't have a computer to do it for me. I also calculate the correction for bigger tires.

No hate here, but would like to make some informed choices on my next truck with actual mileage info to go on. Had a 2006 4 door 4x4 dually with 6 speed manual. Showed as high as 26 on the computer. Never got better than 15.4 actual. When towing, normally showed about 14, never got better than 9.1 actual. By 120,000 miles, Truck developed a bad miss and started burning over a gallon of oil per 700 miles. Got rid of it to an informed buyer.

Nice truck, bad engine. Mileage was unacceptable. My 2001 (bought new) has 320k and still gets 19+ empty and about 12 towing. Would like a newer truck, but don't wanna go backwards.

Lol, you guys should put black electrical tape over the MPG readout display on your trucks.

I'm still happy with my truck. I spend $100.00 a week to go to work and I drive 2 hours or more a day round trip. I fill up monday morning and then again Friday afternoon after I get paid. It's way better than my wife's 2012 Ram with 5.7 hemi. She spends $50.00 every other day.
