2007 6.7 Towing upgrades

2007 mega cab 6.7 4x4 lar edition with exhaust brake completely stock. Will be towing a 40 racecar trailer probably 11K or so loaded. Looking to what upgrades you guys might recommend. To this point I have been a hook the trailer to the truck and go (smaller trailer). Here are some things I have been told.

EFI Live programmer
EGR & DPF delete
FS2500 oil treatment
Gauges - Exhaust Temp, Boost pressure

Also having a turbo issuse with the variable actuator sticking. Is there a recall on the turbo or a way to clean it?

Thanks

If there is a cleaning port on turbo you can clean it with the cleaning fluid and attachment. Otherwise it will need to be drilled and tapped for the attachment. If code P2262 is stored there is a test to determine if Turbo replace, ECM update or Turbo clean is required.
Read Turbo clean procedure,
Turbo diagnostic for code P2262

I would also install a Mag-Hytec transmission oil pan; I like the extra oil capacity along with the AL pan for cooling. I am using one; also have on the rear differential cover which is Al with extra capacity for diff oil too.

You may need air bags for load leveling; I did but I am using a 2500HD SRW truck pulling a 11.5K 5er.

I tow a 13K 5er and I was also having problems with my Turbo the Dealership said you need another one.
1st I fueled up and did a 100 mile round trip with The EB on and varied my speed the whole trip. That cleared my code for the position sensor on the turbo.

I bought a Jack tuner from Cummins Tuner with EFI Live tuning They don't give you so much power you destroy you trans (I have the auto) but they have bigger tunes if that is what you want.

I bought a new 4 inch exhaust from the turbo back and a Sinister EGR & Cooler delete kit. I really like the performance I've gained and it also helps with MPG's also. I had to install air bags to get everything level and the Gages are on the way

Found out today that the trailer is titled at 9K so laoded could be around 13K 14K

JimC did you reseach any other tunners? My brother in law told me EFI Live, and I am looking at Edge, I like that they have the gauges so I don't have to add them

Honestly no. I am not looking for max power to take it to the track. I just wanted reliable HP to pull the camper and when the turbo started acting up I knew I had to do something quick so went into the delete mode. I am very happy with the result. My tuner is not one you can change on the fly so that is maybe another reason not so popular here. It has 3 tunes and a stock setting loaded and it takes 3-5 min to change the tune from one to the other. I went from 9.5 MPG to 11.5 towing and used to get 16-17 combination MPG now get around 20.

I am not really looking for track power either but pulling power. I am looking at the Edge CST for the gauges all in one place instead of 4-5 gauges spread through the truck. Just trying to decide if I want to go with the EFI Live and edge gauge or the Edge programmer and gauge in one.
