I just bought a 2008 Ram dually with the 6.7 Cummins in it with 228,000 miles. The EGR has been deleted with a Sinister Diesel delete kit. So it must have been tuned.
First question how can I find out what tune was use on it, the guy I bought it from did not know.
Second question is what do I need to buy where I can keep a eye on how the injectors are performing.
I looked at 3 Rams with the 6.7 Cummins for sale cheep because #6 injector failed and the piston rings had scared the cylinder wall. I passed on them, but would like to keep a eye on the injectors in case one does go bad with the truck having 228,000 miles on it. The guy I bought it from did not know if the injectors had been changed out. He only had the truck for 3 years.
Truck runs good, no blow by, no code thrown, drove it home 656 miles in 11 hours straight, about 200 miles interstate at 70mph, about 456 miles through small towns and farm land 2 lane roads 45 to 60 mph, hand math averaged 18.12 mpg.

There's no way to tell what tune is on the ECM.

As far as the injectors, are you looking for an in car monitor like an Edge CTS2 or garage unit? I don't know if any of the in car units can monitor injector performance but there's a few garage ones that can.
