Wrangler MT/R's Sizing

I tried the search function but did not find anything concrete.

I'm looking to get a set og Good Year Wrangler MT/R' for my 04 2500.
The suspennsion is stock but my next purchase will be a 2" leveling kit.

Does anyone have experience with these tires, what is the biggest size i can install on my truck without having to do a lift and so there won't be any issues with clearances or rubbing.

Reading the links i found different tire makes and types although same sizes fit different.

I really Appreciate any input.

Thanks in advance,
JR.

305/75R17. My friend runs 305 Goodyear MT/R tires on his 2003 Cummins. He has no leveling kit, and they are tight but work nice. With a leveling kit, they'd be ideal.

With the 2" leveling kit you can run up to a 315 (35") without problems at all. As long as you stay with the stock wheel, or a wheel that is not more than 10" wide,a no crazy backspace and offset numbers.

I had Wrangler MTRs on my previous truck (2001 F250, yeah I know I know) and they lasted about 22K miles and they were done, and by done I mean drag slicks, and I did rotate ever 5K.

I have the Toyos on the dodge now, no idea about wear yet as they have about 3K miles on them, but they definantly make a lot less road noise.

just my .02

My friend's MTRs are also wearing out fast. I am running the Cooper Discoverer STT tires and they seem to be fairing much better. We were comparing tires a while back, and he was surprised at how much more tread I had left than his.

I had MTR's on my 01...I will never put them on a heavy dodge again
I would go for the toyo MT's I think you would be happier.

Toyo does make a heck of a tire. If I didn't like the Coopers so much, I'd be going straight to Toyo for sure.

the coopers are a great tire and alot cheaper then the toyo version I wish I would have got the coopers or the toyos on my new truck instead of the BFG's....I like the stiff side wall the E rated tires give
