wierd pyro temps
just picked up the new 06 in my sig (NONE of those mods yet), I installed a pyro in the manifold, pointing at an angle, down and back, just outside #5, exact same spot as my 04.5, and it reads cold and slow,
I had it W F O from 20 - 90 mph, top exh temp was 1050, and took forever to get there, my 04.5 pyro will go up and down, close to as fast as the tach
(tst 0-0), and hit 1400 or so,
What is wrong here, is this normal for a stock automatic, or is the new pyro piled up

I'm not 100% sure about an '06, but for a stocker that sounds pretty normal. When I shut off all of my toys the pyro moves much slower.....
Add about 300*-400* and you'll be fine. If you plan on any serious modifications I would move it to the manifold to keep a watch on temps closer to the combustion chamber.

with my stock truck, 1450 is nothing hard to hit.
Any way you can swap your gague from the other truck to see if it is the gague?
It was jumping around 0-700, 700-1600, all over, faster then you can even think possible. Ill try swapping parts until 1 gauge runs properly.

For the jumping around I would look for a short. I just installed my egt over the weekend and have only seen about 1000* but then I only commute about 14 miles each way and I haven't had an opportunity to get on it. I will be pulling an empty car trailer to Idaho this weekend over some good passes and so I will see what happens with about 3000 lbs in tow with no wind resistance. The real test will be when I pull my 12 and half foot tall 5er over those same passes.
As for installing it, I found it easier to drill and tap the manifold than to connect up the light and the boost gauge.

Over the next couple of days I will be adding about 5000lbs of permanent wieght to the truck, and doing the rest of the mods, so it has to get over 1000 degrees by 90 mph
My stock 06 would hit 1300 pretty easy, intake and straight through muffler lowered it some, but my autometer moves pretty quickly. Probe is in top of manifold just before dropping down to turbo.
