Why wont both my tires spin if my truck has a limited slip??
Yeah, I figured you would dig a deep enough hole that you would have to resort to personal insults/name calling. I guess it really does take a man to just admit when they're wrong.
Front E-Locker
Will fix my problem. You can't plow with 1/2 of your wheels slipping on ice and the other 1/2 doing NOTHING!
E-Locker, Boost gauge, EGT gauge, and SBC CON OFE go in next week.
I think I will re-badge the truck: POWER WAGON on one door and 7.62 NATO (or 308 WIN) on the other.
My "Got Mildots" sticker gets a few comments from those in the know.

Runamuk reminded me about this thread so I thought I would update a little........
After I got my BFG 315's on I dumped the clutch and low and behold 2 black burn out tracks.......
also we have had a few storms since the thread and I have tried to idle up the drive way and now it goes right up
I am beginning to think it was all Michelin's fault...I am thinking the stock tires just did not have enough traction to make the LS engage???
I still have not looked in the diff to see because it seems to work now
it's really weird.

Glad this tread came back up. My truck has LS and both spin when I get in the dirt. Thought it was weird that it acted like an open diff when I had it on the lift when I replaced the exhaust.
Funny how any thread about the TracRite Gt becomes a pi**ing match between the lovers of the unit and the haters.
There is way too much bad information in this thread.
It is simply the wrong unit for an off road vehicle. Not enough bias to move the vehicle when one tire doesn't have traction. The brake modulation, IMHO, is the reason I feel it's the wrong unit. A true limited slip/posi/locker shouldn't need driver intervention to operate. Period
An yes, us old timers, used to use the brake to fool an open differnential to act like a limited slip.

My buddy who had been complaining of poor LSD performance with his 06...just pulled the cover...and low and behold...OPEN DIFF!
His truck muct have been built on a Monday. This is the third time I have seen this.
The Michelins stink as far as poor weather traction is concerned. Four spining have less traction than one good tire. They do last forever though...

The TracRite is OK in dirt and snow with traction... The Ice is a different story ... LOL... No longer an issue as the E-Locker in the front is good. If I have a problem with the one front, and one rear wheel spinning problem... I just stop wheel spin press the magic go button to engage the front locker. Let the clutch out easy in 4x4 and I have no problem.
Once the rear hits some resistance the power will then go to both rear wheels and I can feel the difference. I have yet to play in mud to see if the resistance is enough to make both rears spin.
My only real issue was on ICE.
With so much weight in the front it is fairly easy to sink then having the front locker sure can help.
The Eaton E-Locker was difficult to get in. TONS of grinding, but well worth it to me. This truck is a tank now... i just need to fix the wheel hop issue in snow and sand.
