why no smarty?

I got my latest issue of diesel power and it showcases 12 trucks for the next diesel power challenge. This is the third or fourth diesel power challenge and I am yet to see a dodge truck equiped with the smarty downloader in this contest. Is there something I am missing here? I for one would like to see how the smarty stacks up against the competition. Just a thought.

Because the people at diesel power wouldn't be able to properly setup a truck to use it anyways.

I agree.. Don't blow our secret weapon! The masses will continue to think there off the shelf tuner from Schucks auto supply is the best there is.

Sidenote, I see you got a 700fi Rhino! I just picked one up 3 weeks ago. Love that thing. It's awesome!

Just what I needed. Something else that has 1000's of available aftermarket parts. My wife is not a huge fan of me right now for sure. She said to go ahead and get it, but I couldn't buy anything for it until i sold 1 of our Raptors. A week later she beat me home and saw the ups delivery. Needless to say I was in the doghouse for a few days!

Love it!

That sucks, I can't keep my girlfriend off the toys, she rides the YFZ like a pro now. I'm so proud of her.

Your lucky! Mine bought a Raptor (660 back in 05) for herself, road it a couple times, and then promptly got back on her trailblazer 400 and never touched the Rappy again. The other Rappy became the "buddy bike".

I will admit it took some time. She gets frustrated at these things quick so it took awhile for her to get past that. She's just now getting to the point of rapping the gears out now. I'm ***** to the wall when i'm on it, bout 90% of the time. That thing is just way too much fun.

Her other favorite toy is mainly the grizzly, because she likes mudding and getting dirty for me!!!! I don't mind, as long as she's happy!!!

Still can't get her to try the dirbike, she won't have it.

I think that's part of the problem with the diesel cult. I remember when diesel truck pulling started getting a lot of attention. Everyone was running 12 valve Cummins engines. At the truck pulls no one would lift they're hoods for everyone to see what was going on. And, the same applies now. Especially is Diesel Power mag, they're articles always say "custom ground cam" or "worked over pump". What is every one afraid of? That some one else will build the exact same set up and then beat you with it? Grow up and grow a pair. It's aprt of racing/ pulling.

I'm guessing probly because Smarty doesn't advertise in that magazine?
I'm always sleptical when a magazine "tests" one of the products advertised in it. You actually think they'll say it's a piece of crap when the manufacturer spends thousands of dollars for advertising in each issue?

BTW, was BD in any of the trucks? They advertise in it?

When I was more into stereo equipment there was only 1 magazine I took seriously, it was the one with NO advertising in it, I can't remember the name of it though...

Diesel power runs the same articles over and over again. like forgotten diesels that i have seen 3 times in the past year. smarty is the way to go as by many people's requests. dont let it hit mainstream then it aint as cool when you shut the superchip guys down. i lke these websites because everyones opinion means more than telling guys to go out and buy the one that worked for diesel power the best. i will not buy another diesel power mag i believe that this forum puts it to shame just my opinion
