Who is using this intake tubing from airflow systems??

I was wondering who here was using this intake tubing from http://shop.airflowonline.com/Mercha...tegory_Code=IT

does/will this work for replacing my silencer tube if cut to appropriate size?

I can't find anyone else around locally that sells this at 5.5"

Thanks all
Eric

You can get a sheetmetal shop to roll you up a piece of pipe OR you can build one from PVC like I did in the parking lot of Home Depot. I only had it on for a short period of time until twins went on but it seemed to work fine.

Some others and myself have made our own intake using 4" tubing, and 4" elbows from there. Hoss has pics in his gallery.

I just used the factory 90 degree tubes and replaced the silencer with a piece of PVC Drain pipe and two slip fittings.

One slip to slip fitting on each end so your ends are big enough to fit into the factory 90's.

less than 10 bucks. and guaranteed for 100k miles

Thumbs up

I've been using it for quite some time now. See my pic's. The tubing is 5.5" dia x 8" long. Works perfect for me. I get lots of turbo whistle when on the pedal. I live about 35 min from one of their locations (Tukwila, WA) so I was able to see what I was buying. I paid about 9 dollars for it, I cleaned up the jagged edges (dudes saw must have been really dull) and polished it.

OK
This is off topic but, I've been gone since 21 July and I've come back to a new site. I also noticed my gallery is no longer there. Someone please fill me in.

Hey Guys, DO you think if I use that intake tubing on my bone stock truck, I will get better flow and maybe a little louder whistle? I have been hearing about some sort of white baffles in the elbows?? I really havnt taken anything apart yet. I wanted to keep my truck close to stock, I was thinking of useing that tubing with my stock elbows, and probably a good aftermarket filter, I dont know if I want to take the silencer ring out too. I dont want to butcher up my stock peices, I like the idea of the tubing slipping right in. Im just looking for a little better flow, and a little louder whistle with out having to spend over $250 for a kit. Thanks
