$300 for a front seal change is a fair price..

Take two days? If it took two days then labor would be around a $1000.
Shops don't know exactly when a tech will free up sometimes so they stack them with plenty of work and the smaller jobs are fitted in here and there.

Overall its probably a 2-3 hour job give or take, also depends on how many parts they take off to get to the front seal.

Had to get wear sleeve and then finish whatever else he went to work on while waiting parts for yours etc.

No special tool needed, the new seal comes with a cheap installation sleeve. You have to pull the intercooler, radiator, harmonic balancer, and timing cover. Replace the seal and reassemble using RTV sealant on the timing cover. It could be done in 3-4 hrs probably for a moderate level mechanic, it took me a whole day, but I am super slow and **** about everything. Jay

GOT BOOST is right, no special tools. I tapped my sleeve on with a small hammer and just be gentle. It took me 7 hrs just taking my time, looking at everything and taking my breaks.
