I've searched high and low... Is there somewhere online I can buy this or should I just go to my local truck dealer?
Thinking about the 51" model... I need some freakin' peace and quiet... while still keeping egts down...

I bought mine @ local big rig shop for $64. I went w/ the 40 or 41" for a bit more deep tone. When I first put it on, I thought "no sound diff.". But now that it has got soot in it, it has a nice deep rumble. Not so much as it's louder, but throatier. HTH

 

I was thinking about one of these but it seems that it's not really louder. I want louder but not straight pipe loud. I may have to get a MBRP muffler.....

 

have you ever thought about an aero turbine muffler before. little more pricy but great sound. I have the 4040 and it is quite a bit louder than stock but they make a 4040L that has a resonator on it so it is much much quieter. Just throwing something else out there.

I've got the Aeroturbine feeding into a Dynomax race muffler. And I'm just tired of it... This morning I had a headache driving in to work, and it just pushed me over the edge.

I just got a price of $82 for the Donaldson mo85171 (41", 4in4out, 8.5" round)
and a price of $87 for Nelsons 51", 4in4out, 9"rnd. I'm gonna measure and see which one I'll be able to install easiest. I want it quiet.
I'm taking over a new leaf.... ride quietly and carry a big freakin' stick!!!

 

Then I guess you won't be needing that Aeroturbine anymore.......

 

No I won't... maybe getting rid of the Dynomax too. PM me if interested... real cheap and only have maybe 6000miles on em' (truck has 15k)...

 

Well, just installed the Donaldson. Install went quite easy. I'm getting too good at this stuff...

It's quieter than before and thats good. Still wanted it even quieter, but I guess this is as good as it gets. I'm getting old (38, haha) but I've got to realize this thing isn't gonna be as quiet and smooth as a BMW...
EGT's seemed the same but only took it out for a 5 minute cruise. I'll know for sure tomorrow on about a 75 mile round trip.
