What would you do next? 06 CTD

All, bonus comes in a few weeks, so doing the planning....

1. What Fuel Pump Solution (will also get the tank vent kit from GDP)

AD150 vs. GDP392 - like the simplicity of 392 and run in parallel with
stock lp, but like the filtration of the AD150

2. What would you do on the below if you could only do one or the other?

A. Lorenz Leveling Kit + 285/75/17 (34.1") Toyo MT's + a bunch of other
stuff i want (Window Vents, Fendor Flares, Reverse Lights,...)
Roughtly around $2400
or
B. New Turbo (62/12 II or 62/13 HTT) and + 285/75/17 (34.1") Toyo
MT's (will these be ok with stock height? or should i stick with
285/70/17 as i have currently?)
Roughly around $3000

Never having had any experience with either a lift or a turbo, i'm kind of clueless on the pro's / con's of either....I want my truck to look a tad better, therefore i like the moderate lift and moderately bigger tires (don't want the perf tradeoff of 35"'s with my auto and 3.73's and hoping the 285/75's arent as impactfull as they are a little skinnier and a little shorter)....on the otherhand, i'm running beta 4.4 and like the idea of the turbo....egt's arent a problem the way i drive...rarely see above 1200* in the winter and it spools like a demon....but like the idea of safely getting boost to 45psi w/o concern for the turbo....am i really going to gain anything from an aftermarket turbo? ...will there be any sop diff in power? or just even cooler egt's and more reliable at 45psi?

Thanks in advance...sorry there are so many questions...

I would go bigger on the suspension and pass on the fuel and turbo [coffee]

I need the fuel...can get to 0psi....and i don't offroad much...other than to offload the dirtbikes.....would like improved ride on the street, but probably not 2K+ worth (2.25 system)...i know the level kit doesnt really improve ride, but at least it'll make the truck look a little better and fit larger tires.

Look at the Carli Starter kit, levels and has progressive front springs for a much "improved ride on the street"...

I was under the impression that 285's are more like 32.5" and my 315's are
34". I am also pretty sure that for the 285's you don't even need the leveling kit. As far as my personal prefference, though, I would be spending the money on tranny upgrades if I had it!

J-man 01-27-2008 06:20 PM

But, since it looks like you got the tranny goods, I think a larger, faster spooling turbo would be cool.

whats the point of looks (lift) if you get blown off by every ricer you mess wih....

My current 285x70x17 are 32.6" and no, you dont need a leveling kit at all.....the toyo's i am looking at are 285x75x17....and the specs state 34.1" (they're 75 series so taller).....concerned they may need 1" inch of lift becasue they're taller, wider and their toyo mt's that come wider....

I already have tranny upgrades, so those are covered....may add an output shaft at some point, but not before i get other stuff....

CDoskocil9 01-27-2008 08:26 PM

On stock rims on a stock truck 35-12.50 17 toyo mts will not rub so I would get those

I hear you, that's why i havent really done anything cosmetic as of yet....and why i'm not going for a 3"+ lift and 35" tires....want to maintain performance....but i think minimum lift (2") and a tad bigger tires would be the best of both worlds....

I say #1 and letter B....

82NDSNPR 01-27-2008 09:06 PM

bottom line is do what you like man if you like a truck with a lift then go with the lift its your ride so make it yours, i like the performance side of these trucks so thats why im going all out and working with II to hit my HP mark. Make her yours and youll always be happy

jgiachino 01-27-2008 10:43 PM

I'm just shooting for 450-500...need some level of sanity and relibility as i've got 3 other mouths to feed and a dirtbike habit...can't go spending it all on the truck...that's why i'm not getting A and B....need to fit a KTM450xc in the mix as well....oh yeah, and some food! :-)

Hoggbreath 01-27-2008 11:45 PM

Canadian chart for 285/75/17 toyo open country a/t is 33.8 I have them and I like them with 2' topguncustomz level kit

desertchecker 01-27-2008 11:59 PM

Htt 62/71/13ss / fass 150 system / lorenze level kit /
& a set of 295/70/17 nitto AT terra grapplers

its all over but the shouting !
