what turbo?
I have a 2004 Cummins HO with six speed. I have a dual feed line, cold air intake, 100 hp injectors, edge juice with attitude, and bullydog power pup. i had it on the dyno and without the power pup. i got 430hp and 790 ft/lbs. i am currently running the stock turbo what is the best one for what i have done? I dont plan on doing anything more but the turbo. i tow a 30 ft gooseneck also. i want something that tows alright but still builds good power. the guy that dynoed the truck said if i put on a turbo ill push 525hp to 575hp. any suggestions would be great. Thanks

62-64mm compressor with a larger turbine wheel for all your fueling. 71-74mm in size. high techs 64/71 might work well. bd's super b special, silver or super phat 64.

I vote 64/71/13ss, I towed 12k the other day with my 64 and had NO tuning at all... stock tuning and had no issues at all, I was very impressed.[guitar]
But a 62/17/13ss wouldnt be bad either..... you would just have alittle less air with the 62, but slightly faster spool up with the 62. |
I would go with the 64-71-13 since you have a six speed, The 62 spools real quick though. It matters what you are looking for, less lag less top end then 62, more lag and more top end 64. Either one would work good for you.

so would a 64/65/13ss be good for an 06 auto that tows once in a while.

that Lloyd fella is one good guy, will set ya straight to what ya need...... he is also having a great big open house for his new shop June 13th......... well worth the drive to go to a place that knows what he is doing, heck his daily driver is a 1300 hp beast :D
edit: something seems strange tho, I made that same hp with stock injectors...... is your truck a tru 04, or 04.5 ? check sticker on side of valve cover gasket for hp rating, 305 is 04, 325 is 04.5. that figured out make sure you have the correct injector tips on there, different spray angle and would not want you to ruin your motor over a slight oversight. |
64/65/13 may have back pressure issues with additional fueling. not worth the chance if it was up to me. i spool a 66 with stock sticks without much issue. and if towing is only occasional, the 71 wheels work great.

Smokingdiesel did say he was a 6spd H.O. so his would be a 305.

I don't recall them ever calling it a H.O. for the 600 series though

I sure do.....

I love my 62-71 13ss but could see how 100 hp stix could get things a little hot towing, so I too would opt for the 64-71-13ss, and Lloyd Mills would be the guy to get it from, great guy to talk to and no bs customer service. Be patient, he does get busy alot.
