I have a 06 2500 4x4 auto. I want some thing with several power levels that adjust with a switch & change tire ratio. On the units with egt readout does it read from the pcm or do you have to install a sending unit?

 

You would like the edge juice with attitude. It has 5 different levels and has gauges like egt , boost and etc. The egt is read from the sending unit. You can change the tire ratio from this unit to. I have the smarty its has 9 different levels and you change the the tire ratio with it to, but you have to buy gauges.

 

So do these stay plugged into the dlc all the time to swap tunes?

 

It remains plugged in all the time. It has 5 power levels with an addtional 6th power level to upgrade to. Can adjust for tire sizes. It comes with a temperature sensor for EGT to install in the exhaust manfold.

 

sorry i forgot to tell you the smarty is a downloader and you download evertime you want to change. The edge is plug in chip so you can change it going down the road with a switch. Bully dog makes a downloader you change going down the road if you want a downloader and you can buy the bully dog outlook montior with it to for gauges.

 

So many different choices that do different things. On my cobra just pretty much had Diablo and Sct. They are now shipping the Predator but they dont have the switch function yet or tire size.

 

if your not planning on going crazy with performance i would do the edge....everyone seems happy with it.
