what size of spacers??
what size of spacers??
I have been trying to decide what kind and size of tire too buy when the time comes. I have been looking at the BFG 255/80/17, but a little too rough for what I need. Then I thought I would just put 265s on it (a little more common size tire to track down if ever in a pinch). Now I have though about just going all out and leveling the front out and putting 285s on my '06 1 ton. I have seen a lot of different sizes of spacers for the rear(1", 1.5", & 2") I was just wondering which one would work and still try to keep the tires under the fender as much as possible. Which is better steel or aluminum? I pull a gn stock trailer every now and then ( about 12-15K). mostly just driving, no load. Just need some helpful advise on what everyones opinion is. If anyone has pics of what I'm thinking of I would like to see them.
I forgot the exact size I had, but it was a BFG 285/xx/17, the tire shop installed a half inch spacer. Spaced out nicely, didn't touch no matter what I towed. There is a guy in town that has a mega cab with 37/12.50/17. He mounted the inside then two other guys pushed on the outside tire to tighten lugs. He has 80,000 miles with this setup frequently towing his d-4. Sharp looking setup!!
