What Programmer?

I want to buy a programmer but am going to try to keep it under 400 bucks. Does anyone have any opinions on what I should get. I am looking for more power and fuel economy. I pull an 8000 lb trailer once a week. Thanks...!

Here we go again.... I like the Superchips flashpaq. It makes good, smooth power, and you may be able to find one for about $400. I'm sure the others will chime in shortly.

I got mine brand new of ebay for $290 and $280 for my brother's. The guy sells them on there all the time. It's a great bang for the buck. If you don't want to risk the trans just run on the lowest setting and it is still very noticeable. Dry pavement I can lay about 20' of rubber at about a 10-15mph roll on stock tires. It gets up and moves much better then stock. Some will say they don't like to get something that gets into the computer but it seems to work fine and you can go back to stock. Most boxes are after the computer and just add pressure to injectors and can cause more problems. I know a few guys that are very knowledgeable in diesles That run the SC. The owner of Dynomite diesel runs it and so do many of his customers. Look them up on the net. They sponsor a guy that has a 05 CTD 4x4 that runs in the 12's on 37" rubber. He uses the SC except for at the track it's some extreme non street programmer.

I like the bully dog triple dog better than superchips. Just my preference I guess. Everyone has their favorites. BDTD is more but I like it. If you are smart and don't act like an idiot than you don't need gauges.

At a minimum, I would get an egt guage. I was shocked at how quickly the egts rose on the performance setting. Mine was at 1400 in no time.

Nother for the SC! I pull a 10,000lbs deck over in the summer on the hills ridges and mountains of western pa and i had the sc on performance and didn't see any egts over 1100. Just like in the other comment, you have to be smart! I kept the air movin and was fine.

For that price I dont think that you can beat the Diablosport Predator. Big Hp, stacks well. Very impressed, and I have tried a good percentage of the ones out there
