Exclamation What to do to Trans?

Well eventually I was gonna get my Tranny done with GOEREND everything.Though right now im a little low on money to do the shafts and everything. And need to get the trans somewhat done,so at least I can drive it.What should I get for it?A triple disk converter, valve body, input shaft. Not gonna do any boost launches or from a stop.A few roll ons might be happening ..Any advice what to get from Goerend?I don't have 5,800 to invest into a tranny yet.Maybe someday soon, tell than need something to hold for now.Need it so I can get my 64 turbo on.
Thanks guys

If you really need a cheaper fix than doing it corretly and building the whole trans I would recomend a torque convertor and valve body for starters. Then make sure you save up for that built transmission because it sounds like you probibally will need one sooner or later.

for about 3600 you should be able to get billet flex, billet input, trip disc, valvebody, extra clutch pack front and back, shift lever. and be quite happier than with the stocker. and yes, with Goerend parts. As long as what you have now isn't trashed to the point where some of the stock stuff can not be used anyway.

For around $2000 you should be able to get all the parts you need to make it solid to 600 hp. Doesn't sound like you are going much beyond that or stressing it overly with intended use.

You don't need a triple disk TC, a good single disk will work unless you are towing heavy or making massive power. You already have enough clutches in all the places so don't waste funds there now. Just a shift kit will help considerably unless you really want a highly customized VB. A flex plate is a nice to have but not really neccessary at your suggested level. I use it as a fuse in case I get a little to radical. Its a lot easier to replace the flex plate than tear the trans down and replace broken pieces in it. The stock piece is good enough if it is matched with a billet cover TC and the bolts are tight. Even the stock front band is quite adequate until big power is hit. A lot of the build is the following pieces and how they work together.

I did the following:

Single disk TC (1700-1800 full stall)
Billet input
Good clutches
Transgo shift kit
Billet front servo cover
Billet band strut
Double sided clutches in OD
A good rebuild and setup

Total cost was $2500. The variable you will have is what the assembler will charge to do the work.

Buddy of mine had converter, flex and valve body and put down right at 6 or a lil more and ran a 12.4 like that.

Thats the best starting point

My trans is in great shape, though I want to install a 64 turbo. So I can get a 5" turbo back to a 7" stack.Though I doubt my stock will hold that.So I just want something for now.I'm looking to go above 800+ with a twin setup and juice in the future. So I rather prefer a triple disk converter, valvebody,BD flex plate, input shaft.I think that covers it right?
