Gauges here. I've had the Commander and a Juice/Attitude but I always find myself going back to analog gauges.

Commander has never let me down! It is really personal preference though. One thing I will add is that the analog guages can't offer protection like the Commander! The automatic defueling setting is nice, along with the warm up mode!

Analog for a couple reasons.
A big 3 gauge pillar looks cool.
I prefer an analog gauge telling me what happening instead of a computer telling me what it THINKS is happening.
Computer goes awry , replace the whole monitor.

Hello,

I like the idea of first knowing what the sensors are telling the EMC. After that analog gauges are nice.

It is a well known fact that the chances of an analog guage are more likely to be inaccurate than electronics. Even if you buy the high dollar analog guages, I would put my money on electronics vs. analog. I have yet to hear of ONE Commander unit fail completely. Even if it did, you know quad would take care of it!

What do you think is inside an analog gauge?

The only difference in analog and digital is that the analog gauges must use the incoming data to drive some sort of motor to turn a needle. A digital gauge just displays what the information is. That is why the digital gauges are soo much faster and more precise, they remove the mechanical aspect out of it.

I know you don't want to hear this but, the vast majority of all the gauges in any new vehicle are driven based on a data bus! the just look analog because of the needle.

its personal choice. For the price and functions, you can't beat a Commander

Depends on where you are...

Had some issues with the Commander's up in Alaska. i think 3 or 4 failed, possibly from the cold. agree with the previous poster, Quad took care of the customer and replaced them.

I like gauges, mainly for the cosmetic appearance of them....

I like the cosmetic look of gauges and don't like the jumpy numbers on a Commander type.
