what clutch for slightly modded 03?
I already did a search and instead of spending hours weeding through them i decided to make anew post.i need a new clutch mine is slipping at wot in 5th and 6th with the edge on 1 and diablo on extreme.i drive the truck 100 miles a day in and out of traffic, light tows in the summer months.i want a clutch that will hold with both programmers maxed out. There will be no more modding done to the truck excpt for larger tires, would like something similar to the stock pedal pressure.any suggestions?

south bend con ofe. i put mine in yesterday.

If that's slightly modded, I'd hate to see extreme.[laugh] [laugh]

how much power do you plan to have? the stock pedle pressure can be done with various clutches, so i would find out first the power you plan to put down and then chose a clutch for that. that way you only have to spend money once.

look into centerforce clutches for the ram when i sold parts, i sold a lot of these clutches and never heard a complant. They are not as good as a southbend ut they are sheeper and will not effect stock pedal pressure.

I would go with either South Bend or ValAir.

i only know about southbend really but they seem to be the only real choice for these trucks...i got the con fe sitting next to me right now!

I strongly recommend the FE from southbend. You could most likely get by with the OFE, but with you running stacked boxes and the larger tires, I think it will take it's toll on the OFE.
As for the clutch pedal difference, the pressure will hardly be any different from stock if any. |

I personally would not bother spending the coin to upgrade the hydro's on a NV5600 unless I was goign twin disk. Just my $.02

They seem to be pretty populare for the Gasser guys, and work well with the lesser torque loads. |
i would say either the ofe or the fe would be perfect for you. i would say just go ahead now and get the fe first so you dont have to do it twice. i have seen it make some serious power on the dyno, then turn around and tow 12,000 lbs in the same weekend.

I'd have to agree with Robert. I have no problems towing heavy with mine. :D
In fact the most I have towed was a gross of just over 19,000 |
Yeah just go for the FE
