:UPDATE: Near Fatal accident (Logging truck vs CTD)

Hey guys I’ve gotten some PM's about how I'm doing since my accident last November.

Here's a link if you never read about it
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=91361

Well I'm doing just fine. I'm almost done with my recovery. I do need to get back into therapy since they decided to move a few cities away. I'm about 90% healed, and I still walk with a limp. It takes me a while to get moving in the morning, and I only have about 1/3 the stamina from before. I gained my weight back. I got down to 175lbs and now I'm back to 215lbs.

I need to start looking for a new career. I'm wanting to find an apprenticeship in mechanics or engineering. If someone knows of anything out there in the Sacramento area please let me know since my state disability runs out in a few months. I'm still optimistic of my new life, I hope things work out for the best.

I bought a 2003 CTD from a DTR member in February and I flew out to Texas and drove it back to California. Since then I have put my own personal touches on it but I no longer feel the need for speed so its 100% stock under the hood.

Here's a few pics of my new rig. I cant say enough good things about everyone who took such good care of me, I truly am a lucky guy.

Luckly you lived. Still can't imagine being in that truck, few wee.

I was in your shoes, except it was near fatal MX accident. Pretty much got all destroyed, changed my way of living that's for sure. Don't race anymore and I sure don't ride like I used to. Learned that with a gal by your side who wants a family, kids, ect, that takes over my life.

Wish you the best of luck and hopefully you find something out there that you enjoy doing, can do, and want to do. Love the truck, can't wait to get my 4.5 incher on and 35's. Looks sweet.

Glad to see your able to still enjoy DTR and be a part of this Human Race.

I worked as a Tow Truck driver and have seen only one accident worse. It involved a 04 3500 DRW vs. a Pine tree @ 70mph. *YOU* are VERY lucky! I can show you the cab area and it is almost identical to yours....

Hope all is well and consider Drafting (CAD) too!

See ya around!

John
