unexplained sound

when i am pulling out sometimes and kinda laying into it if i let off of the fuel quickly before it shifts out of 2nd gear at somewhere between 15 and 20 psi of boost the truck will make a noise that kind of sounds like it is trying to relieve some back pressure or something it does not do it all the time but can make it do it pretty frequently any suggestions kinda lost

You are probably barking the turbo a bit when you back out quickly.. Air has no place to go but push back against the turbo wheel.

rather than letting off the fuel really quick just let off smoothly? not sure if thats the right wording. but my truck will do it if i get in it a second or so then let off right away. so i have to feather it out

Its kind of like the guy that went to the doctor and said,"It only hurts when I do this", and the doctor told him, "Just don't do that anymore".
It is a normal sound when getting out of the throttle while there is high boost pressure. Its not great for the turbo, but it won't kill it immediately either.
As was said before, just try and ease out of the throttle when possible, and no, opening up the exhaust won't cure it.
