Twin turbo's
Twin turbo's
I've seen a few guys on here saying that they are getting 5-7 mpg gains with twins. If twins cost around $3,000, they would pay themselves off in just over a year. (quick figuring and maybe not accurate) How many are running twins and can you verify these gains?
I'm gonna say that is innacurate. I could see maybe 1-2 mpg increase if you can keep your foot out of it, but I would bet it would be just about the same. My mileage has definitely gone down cuz now it's just way too much fun to drive...not to mention that turbo whistle is music to my ears!

No increase in mileage here.... on my 02. Just more boosted air for a heavily fueled truck.
I daily drive mine at around 425 hp. Often go a full tank without increasing hp. No gain there either.

I've not seen any hard data indicating that twins offer a large gain in MPG numbers over the stock turbo.
I think the MPG gain comes from having a large, slow-spooling single, and then transitioning to twins. But even then, the increase is usually 1 - 1.5 MPG.
