tst rail pressure readings

I just got my tst with the rail pressure setting on it and I have it stacked with a smarty. the most I can get it to is like 19.3 and that's running it hard is that good or bad?? I have the tst on the tt03 setting with power setting 2 and tourqe on 1 and rail pressure on 1 is this were I want to be or can I up some of the settings??

Too much electronics and not enough fuel...

19.3 is not good at WOT steady... I would not use tt03, or tt05. Leave torque setting off and go no more than 2/0 on the TST. Leave the TST rail pressure off and let smarty do that work. TST rail pressure doesn't like modified cp3's for some reason and will either set codes, work erratically or both. Beta 4.2 already adds a little pressure but will level out around 24k.

I see you have an arson kit... and that should be enough for you. But obviously isn't or there is not enough fuel pump.

For now, turn off TST and watch RP. Does it stay above 22K? Go down in power levels until you see steady over 22k... then you have enough fuel.

I think you need to address lift pump and cp3 delivery.

I have a carter pusher pump and I can't get it lower then 17 when i'm on it with just the smarty on. what should it be on then if I don't use the tt03

what should it be at idle I was seein like 6 at idle??

6 at idle is good. That is about 1k over stock for an 03. If you only pull down to 17 psi on FP, then the Cp3 is not doing enough to keep you over 20k on the RP.

tt03 is the program that fuels early and aggressively... full fuel at 12psi boost IIRC. tt05 pushes that back to about 20psi IIRC. Standard has a less aggressive curve throughout.

I would turn TST completely off, just use it to monitor the RP. Watch results. If you are keeping over 22k at WOT at that point, then start to dial in a little TST. don't use torque setting. Smarty does enough on its own and that will only serve to drain the rail. I'll be willing to bet that 2/0 or 3/0 will be the max you can support... maybe less. Use standard or tt05.

i got it up to 23 with just my smarty and 27 with the power setting on 4 but noting else on does that sound better but that is pedal to the floor? It was at 15 cruisen down the highway goin 70??

soulezoo 08-19-2008 08:19 PM

That sounds perfectly normal all the way around.

I had it on the econ tune to get those readings but I should try the tt05 and shouldn't go over power level 3 probably??
