TST PowerMAX CR for new 04.5

Well what do ya know. I was just checking out the TST site for updates and they are saying the PowerMAX CR will work on 03 to 04.5, including the new 600 engine. Who would have thunk it.

http://www.tstproducts.com/powermaxcr.htm

Now if they could just get those codes cleared up.

Jeeze... I wonder how much torque that thing will have with just a TST CR box... the gains should be the same as they are on the current HO and SO. Over 1000lb/ft of torque with just a duration box is just mind boggling to me... espessially when more is had when stacking a pressure box. The 3rd gen technology should develop rapidly now.

I saw that too. must just let the ECM run the electronic wastegate. biggest problem with the 04.5s will be for guys who want to swap out the turbo. I also saw someone put a Ramifier on his 04.5 too

I hear ya. That's a shame ain't it. I went for a ride in a 600 with a buddy of mine, 2000 F250 owner, who is looking for a new truck and I'm trying to convert him. The 600 ran like crap. We were no further than 2 miles from the dealership and it started spitting and sputtering at start from a stop light. Get up and go throughout the whole drive, about 15 miles, was less impressive than my 03 SO. This was yesterday, so I know they have had time to flash them...only 4 on the lot. You would think they would do the flash on these before they let potential customers drive them. Wimpy truck.

This is very interesting. The TST with the gauges built-in is even more interesting. I have to buy gauges anyway. This might make economical sense. Anyone have any feedback on this? Is it easy to remove/disguise when taking back to the dealer for service? I don't want to jeopardize my warranty.

I hope the stock 600 will outpull my old 2000 F250 PSD with the Hypertech PPIII. Let me re-phrase that. IT HAD BETTER outpull my F250 PSD with the Hypertech PPIII because I sold that truck to a buddy for half of what my new Dodge is costing me. If he gets up the hill quicker than me, I'm not sure I'll be able to tolerate the ribbing I'd be in for. If so, I'll be looking for at least enough power improvement to win that race. It looks like this TST could be just the ticket.

I spoke with Tomeygun he apparently sold a 600 to Mark, that's how they have it checked out already. He's apparently running the box on his new truck. Shawn

I'm sure the ECM operates the wastegate based on MAP data and since the box plays with those values, the W/G will open later or stay closed.

yea I agree. what triggered my question is that with boost fooling I wonder if the electronic wastegate will operate correctly. maybe its already taken care off.

i remember mark telling me that the wastegate has not been worked out yet, the TST box on 5/5 on the "600" pushed 42 LBS...

he told me that he worries that with setting 9/9, the fuel would push the boost to high..., the solution would involve fooling the wastegate sensor and then mechanicaly opening the wastegate

(BTW, I had Mark install a CON ofe in my 5-spd while i was there, the WOW! , that box NEEDS aftermarket clutch, bar none)

the waste gate has a spring return so even if it is not actuated by the ecm when it hits a certen point the boost pressure will overcome the return spring pressure and waste eg's the best way i have found to deactivate the w.g. is to clamp on a pair of vise grips on the actuating rod at the pull cylinder. i am still waiting for my b1 and pmcr and afe
i have installed my e.brake and custom 5" exhaust with a 5" x 43" straight truck muffler sounds goooooood nearley as quite as stock but my trucks cajonies dropped now
