0148 is fuel delivery error 0107 is map sensor circuit malfunction. try taking the smarty and quad out clear the codes and try it again. do you have fp?

Hey guys<
Well this is what I have. I checked the fuel to the cp3 and have LOTS. I pulled the line off the bottom of the rail and when cranking there is fuel coming out but not alot. I put my thumb over the line and I could just about stop the fuel... Now here are my questions. How much fuel should come out of that line when cranking? Should it be spraying out or just kinda running out? Also it makes no sense to me that I should be able to stop the fuel with my thumb. How eles do you diagnose the cp3?
Thanks!

probably not a good idea to be putting your thumb over any fuel line after the cp3. As far as i know that should be high pressure fuel did you try cranking the truck with the line off the cp3 to see if you have lots of fuel while cranking? be careful with high pressure fuel

ok i read that you checked while cranking. you should have tons of fuel under very high pressure going to the rail. what was your rp reading before it quit?

Hey guys,
Thanks for the input! Taco, not sure what it was.The rtuck was running great just about a 1/4 mile from the house felt like it was dying than died (shut off) when I made it to my drivway. I would like to hear from someone that knows how to really tell if its the cps. Also what cp3 to buy and has anyone got a tech right up on how to change a cp3...
1985 cucv,
this thing is really starting to give me fits! Talk about a money pit!!!
See ya

i dont think changing the cp3 is really hard however i wouldnt touch anything after the cp3 that can be very high pressure and will blast diesel into your blood stream.
your cp3 died that is very unlikely unless you have a bad lift pump for a while? but they do fail i just saw one on cummins forum for like 350 bucks but with your truck modded you will need a better pump im surprised you dont have one already. id call floor it asap and let john know what issues you have. your truck will really come to life after a cp3 upgrade!

Pull your MP8 off first and the high pressures are very dangerous after the CP3. It sounds like you pulled the rail relief valve line off though, not sure.

If it's the supply line to the rail then you need 10k psi to get the truck to start. If you can stop it with your thumb then something's wrong with the pump. Is there any leaks on the pump? Sorry about your luck.

Not sure if you still have a rail pressure relief valve, but mine just recently failed just like you describe. I pulled mine off and swapped a buddys valve on to my truck and it fired right up.

How much fuel is in the tank. I see you have FASS pump if you have a 1/4 tank or less you draw tube can,t draw fuel. My truck did the same thing, I add fuel than it started. I hope these help you. My truck is an 2006 with a lot of go fast goodies
