Transmission decision time... NADP or Goerend?

Mornin, DTR. I'm trying to help a friend to decide between the two, I don't have first hand experience with either of them.

We both know that they are good, but he is looking for any negative points, why he should buy one over the other.

Thanks!

I had a NADP in my 02. It worked good when you were on it but just taking it easy it really shifted hard. Annoyingly hard. I know that the fluid press is to prevent clutch slipping and stuff but it shifted real hard. Another problem is that it kept blowing tans cooler line. Too high of a press? Don't know. Don't know if I would get another one. They do get bonus points though for excellent customer service and knowledge plus the tans dyno they have to test each trans after build.

Goerend. Almoxt 3 years and 40,000 miles and not a problem. Knock on wood. Dave builds some great stuff and he will definately stand behind his product.

Can't say anything bad about my Goerend, love it, no problems at all. Have no experience with NADP, so my vote is for the Goerend.

My Goerend has been awesome and Dave's customer service was beyond belief. I called or emailed him many times from Iraq and he would have stayed on the phone forever if I wanted to. I love mine but no experience with the other.

I put a Goerend on my O3 QC Dually, it is the 235hp California model. The difference in the way the truck drives is night and day. It feels like the truck is making a bunch more power because the transmission and torque converter are more efficient at getting the power to the ground. The trans has smooth but very positive shifts. When it shifts it doesn’t clunk or lurch into the next gear but when it shifts into the next gear you don’t feel any slipping. The torque converter is responsible for a big part of the difference, the engine now feels much more connected to the transmission and the response is much better. I also have an 06 RC Dually and the first major upgrade will be another Goerend trans. When the tuners are off both trucks the 03 actually feels stronger than the 06, even though it is supposed to be down 90hp. Although I live 7500 miles from their shop all my dealings with Dave were good there were no problems getting the trans to me.
