Exclamation Tranny dosent like to shift between 1st and 2nd with copilot

Weirdest thing, it has been doing this for awhile. NADP thought it was the valve body, so we changed that, nope same if not worse. If you turn the CO pilot off it will shift like normal. Any ideas,, Im thinking maybe replacing the whole tranny, but could it be the tc? (it dosent seem like it is possible, but really isnt that all the copilot adjusts is the lock up on the tc? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated

If you turn the copilot off then it's got to be a problem with the copilot and not the tranny.

Put a complete new Copilot in there, checked and rechecked the wiring. Now we have changed the valve body,, have a couple of people say that they have seen it before, but not really now how they fixed it

I was at a local shop friday and they were talking about how 2 trucks were having trouble with the co-pilot. 2nd gear starts at times no shift into overdrive. But turn it off and they are fine. They have no fix for it as of yet but if I hear something I will pass it along.

A Copilot is a tc lockup controller. When they work they are awesome. But when they dont,, they are a world of hurt

It locks the torque converter up, worth about 3 tenths in the 1/4, also very good for towing.

I had the same problem. After a few failures of the tranny I pulled everything and put in a Suncoast. Come to find out it was really the co-pilot.

OK, got it all figured out... finally,,, after a new VB, I had to adjust the TP in the valve body, it wasnt putting out enough pressure. Once that was adjusted up to around 70k,, it worked just awesome.. took the truck for a little rip, and man it is pulling hard now with the new cp3 and stuff in it. Cant wait to try out the N2O. I am also going to throw a Dr P on there to try out. Seems that my rail pressure seems a bit low to me between 15 and 23k,, but not at 23k for very long
