towing box
I had the 65hp quad tow module on for a little over a year, great box no problems with it at all. I have the quad std, module on now, have not towed with it yet but i'm sure it will be fine.
Edge Juice/Attitude! Many safety features and i loved the way it towed! I hated the way it raced, but for towing it was an awesome box, and with 5 power levels adjustable instantly, you cant go wrong

PM me!! I have a XZT that has probably 4,000 miles on it that I'm selling! I loved it on my 06! Now have a small Tacoma that surely dosent need it! It is pratically new and allot cheaper! JB
OK Quad, I'm looking for either the XZT or the Xzillaraidar standard box with your Commander. I will be empty for a fair bit of the time. I tow 2-3 quads on a trailer, my brother's 16 ft boat, and a 36 ft GN horsetrailer on the farm - not all at the same time of course
. The terrain I tow on is everywhere from flat to the mountains and on the highway to goat trails. As much exhaust work as I'm going to do is done and airbox work is planned next days off. Which box?Does the commander come with all the sensors other than fuel pressure? Can the trans oil temp sensor be installed in my handshaker?
Never had a box ever before. You answer and any other opinions are greatly appreciated.
Well, I will give you some pointers but, in your situation it ultimately depends on what you really want deep down.
With the Commander either will work 100% perfect for you and both are adjustable on the fly. The will both have the same exact warnings and safety features built in.
Now, if you want your truck to run really good, pull anything you want easily and be pretty easy on your drivetrain and other parts the XZT is for you.
The Standard module will basically do the same thing in the 60hp setting but, you have that tempting L3 on the monitor that will drive you nuts. Nothing wrong with it but, you should know that over time your clutch will suffer and possibly other drivetrain parts. If you really think you can handle the temptation to stay away from it then it is the way to go because the 100hp setting is so much fun.
Also realize that you will be able to tow in the 100hp setting with the Commander as it will keep you from getting into immediate catostrophic troubles but, your drivetrain will hate you. No matter how hard you try the extra torque is too tempting while passing or taking off or heading up a grade or hill. I have never met anyone that did not eventually try it. Once you try it you are hooked like it was crack!
So either will work perfect, it just depends on exactly what you want out of the truck and what you want to be able to do.

OK, I'll stew over that for awhile. Now, what about the sensor questions?
Does the Commander come with all the sensors it monitors - I know the fuel pressure is separate, but what about the others? If so, does the trans temp sensor mount to the handshaker and if not, is there a way to get it done?
Thanks Quad.

Oh yeah, sorry, my ADD kicked in.
Now what were we talking about??????
I do not know of a way to install the sensor in the handshaker and I really do not think it is a valid concern. Basically we measure it with a 1/8npt probe and anything you want to stick it into it will read. Most people with 6spds put it in the oil filter boss and read oil temperature as it can be handy to watch.
If you want it in the 6spd itself I am sure someone has done, I just never have. I would think you might be able to get a machine shop to drill and tap the inspection plate or the drain hole or something?
The Commander, part# CCS1000 comes withe EVERYTHING needed to monitor EGT, Boost, Coolant and Trans or Oil Temp. It does not come with everything for the install though.
The Fuel Pressure kit comes with everything needed to monitor Lift Pump Pressure and Rail Pressure plus an extra signal wire that we are going to use to measure RPM. It includes a tapped banjo bolt and washers for the CP3 and everything.
