Timbren install

When you installed the timbrens on a 2500 4x4, did you have to do any drilling, modifications, etc.??

No drilling. Simple to install, just remove the rubber 'stop bumper' on the frame and use the same 2 bolts to install the Timbrens.

Cakuz,
Have you noticed a improvement in your trucks ride, while loaded?Do you use the trucks original mounting plate on the frame for the timbren to fasten to?I have a 20.5 pullrite 5th wheel hitch that has it's mounting brackets around the frame back there, but the bottom frame is clear with the original trucks axle bumper there,so it looks like the timbren would fit there.I'm getting a slight botoming feeling on deep dips on some interstate overpasses, due to my being right at ,or slightly over my gvwr.I'm wondering if these would help?Give me your thoughts. Thanks Pat

Has anyone taken the two 5/8" spacers from the bottom of the spring pack and moved them to the top AND used the Timbrens?

I am wondering basically if I will have any clearance between the stop and the timbren if I lower the rear via the spacer removal method.

I removed my spacers and I like it that way. But it does sag a bit with a heavy trailer so I've been thinking about the timbrens too. Maybe someone will chime in that has done it this way.

If you drop the rear 5/8" youwill be that much closer to the axle with the Timbren, I have had the Timbrens on for a while now(about 1 1/2 year) and I believe that I had about an 1'' to 1 1/2" after install, the original timbrens where 8000lb units and where far to rigid, I felt every crack in the road, the ride was absolutely terrible when loaded. I switch out to the 3200lb model and and got the ride back. They are still on the truck.

I just wanted to update my situation. As previously stated, I lowered my rear with the 'klenger' method. I then wanted to add Timbrens to the truck to help with sway and squat. I measured the distance from where the bump stops bolt on to the axle and called Timbren. Once I gave them the measurement they gave me another spring number to order instead of the one that would go on stock. This was at no cost either. I have since got the parts installed and pulled the trailer a few times with them and they are doing great. So with a quick measure and call you can use Timbrens on a lowered 3rd gen rear.
