Tell me about your TQ & VB mod

Have been thinking about changing to a better TQ and either swapping out the VB or installing a shift kit myself.

What TQ do you have or recommend?

What VB or kit do you recommend.

Box, exhaust and intake mods will come later.

Thanks

I have the DTT VB and TC. I initially installed just the VB which was pretty easy. Pull the old one out, get fluid all over your arm, switch a couple of parts over to the new one, and reinstall. My truck shifted very firmly. I loved it. I had the converter put in a couple weeks later and although I really like the converter, it softened up my shifts a little. I paid Timinva to put it in as that transfer case just looked like it was gonna be a bear to handle while laying on my back. I needed the TC because after towing w/ my EZ on level 4 for a couple years I was getting some slippage when taking off from a stop. It's going to run you about $2000.00 plus the core deposits which are pretty high. Of course, you get that back once you ship them your stock units back...

Now, I'm back in power mode and it's really time to do the whole trans so I'll have to pay to pull the whole thing again. If you think you will want to make big power in the future I'd recommend just doing the whole trans now but I've beat on my trans for about a year and a half now with no problems......

Thanks for the info. Do the shift points seem better since the VB replacement? And what seems to be your stall speed now?
