tapping factory cp3 banjo bolt?
tapping factory cp3 banjo bolt?
i got a set of gauges and the electric fuel pressure guage didnot come with a tapped banjo bolt. this seems to be the best place to install. instead of ordering one has anyone removed the factory bolt and drilled and tapped it? if so let me know. any other places to tap into for accurate fuel pressure readings?
I just went ahead and purchased the proper banjo bolt for th install. Was fairly inexpensive. Also they make about a 15 inch rubber fuel hose to attach there first, then put you guage electrical sender at the end of the hose. I didn't install this hose, and therefore my gauge jumps all over the place when I drive (not good for the gauge). If you install the rubber hose, supposedly it may help to mellow the jumping around of your gauge, but I don't have any first hand experience with this. Hopefully one of the fellas with that set-up will chime in about how his gauge is operating. People have also purchased the new aluminum fuel filter cover from Geno's which has a predrilled and tapped area on the top of the cover to add a fuel line/sender combo there.
I drilled and tapped mine. But I ordered a new one from cummins first just incase I phuqed up. works but I did notice the casting hole was a little off center with the hole I drilled, no big deal. jusr look very close for any burs and or shavings and you'll be okay.
