Are you talking about that, or just capping the rollover vents?

there is about $25 in parts in that kit. go to a local hydraulic hose shop and get a bulkhead fitting (-8an), a 1/2" hose barb (-8an to screw onto the bulkhead fitting), some 1/2" pushlock hose and a "T" fitting for the upper vent hose and be done. no sense in spending $60 plus shipping for something that can be bought local for cheaper

11 years or so. My last name is Morton, don't know if you know it. If you know my sister, I don't claim her, so don't group me in with her...

get your parts rounded up
Remove bed
remove fuel canister
measure diameter of bulkhead fitting and get that size drill bit
i locate the highest position of the fuel tank, place a plastic cup inside the tank to catch plastic shavings when drilling,
install bulkhead fitting
install "T" into vent line next to fill hose (place at highest point)
connect with the hose and reinstall bed

DONE

Thanks Man! I can also just lower the fuel tank also? Seems like this might be a better option as I will be working alone? Seemed some of the other posts most people just lowered the tank.

I lowered the tank because I did it my self. If I did it again, I would have my buddy help me to pull the bed. It would have been faster and probably easier.

what does this mod do for your truck? and what year is your truck?

not to hyjack your thread but i was having a problem with my fuel tank as well. my tank was always in a vachum, i would take my fuel cap off and air would rush in... so i took off the rubber gasket on my fuel cap... it seems to work for now, still get shitty fuel mileage...

Mine is an 03 but I think it works for all 3rd gens. My understanding is the factory tank vent is to low on the tank, there is an air pocket that forms in the tank at the very top. This doesn't allow the tank to fill all the way or takes forever to get an absolute full tank. This mods moves the vent to the highest point to release this pocket, making fueling faster and allowing you to get a full tank.

I'm not sure how the 2nd gen tanks are set up but it sounds like your vent is plugged some how.
If no replies are here you may try the 2nd gen sections.
