Swiss cheeze air box...

Swiss cheesed the airbox awhile back. Bad decision. Driving through town today (high water) got home had water in my airbox. I wasn't even playing in it just driving through. Bottom side of the filter was soaked had a bit of moisture on the top side of the box but none in the intake tube. Should I be concerned?. It's gotta go. Can anybody recommend a loud intake without the fear of water ingestion? I've either gotta find a way to plug my wholes or get an intake system. How does the homebrew 6" whistler do in wet weather? This sucks. Went home jumped in the powerjoke went back to town got a new airfilter. Oh yeah forgot to mention. Water was about half way up my center caps.

went to fuel up the shop truck the other day and it was raining out, came back to the shop to change the oil and air filter, and the air filter was wet has no holes in the air box. If the water was that deep I would say you get water no matter what

Surely water wouldn't get in the air box at that depth. Were talking about 17.5" give or take .5" or so. I have been through much deeper water then that in 1500 chevy's and never had a problem w/ water ingestion. Heck the airbox is chest high on me at 6' 2". This sucks. Think I should look into the aftermarket? I'm curious to hear how well the homebrew whistler does w/ water ingestion.

I have not been running mine long enough to say if it's good in water But I have been driving it in some really slushy wet weather and it has never been wet so far.
Most any intake that is wide open is going to run a water risk.
I plan to add a Outerwears pre-filter to help repel water from my filter.
Just do the whistler and use the money you saved to buy something else cool for your truck.

Funny, when I recently removed the stock filter I noticed there was water in the bottom of the box. Hadn't even rained/snowed that day either.
