superlift suspension question
superlift suspension question
I am looking at the 4" Superlift suspension lift for my 03 2500. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with these for the 3rd gens? How does it ride? Also is the rockrunner system a better system or would it make the truck handle worse on the pavement? or is there another 4" lift that is better quality? Any help is appreciated
Pictures would be great also.....

I've got the 6 inch on an 03 2500 turning 37 inch Toyo's and love it. The ride is actually better than stock IMHO. It rides super smooth, no funky noises or rattles, no vibrations...nuthin! It's been as perfect as perfect can get. I didn't get the rock-runner, it wasn't yet ready for production when I got my kit. If you're gonna be driving mostly street with some occassional off-road the standard kit will be fine. I've heard some rumors about the RR kit being a pain in the rear. Noises, alignment, worn bushings etc. (just rumors though, no first hand experience)
It's a no-brainer if ya ask me!
I tried to post a pic, I guess it didn't work

maybe this will work????

Boarbuster...I can see why you say that yours rides like crap. Anything that you put boggers on doesn't ride well. Not downing your ride, just from experience, I know how they are. But, I can say that your truck looks great with the boggers on it.

i have looked at the KORE system, but i just dont use the truck off road that much. Also would like a little more height than just a leveling kit. I am looking at putting 35's on it. So does anyone else have the 4" system, and does it ride like boarbuster's? Maybe only the 6" rides nice? Tuff Country makes a 4.5", but im not a big fan of the spacers in front.
I love my 4" superlift, rides better than stock, corners great, no body roll.
I think it is a good bang for your buck in my opinion.
I tried a tuff country lift on mt 2002 dodge, I wasnt pleased, thats all I will say about that.
check my profile for pics.

after looking at the trucks with 6" and 37's i think that looks awesome. You guys with the 6" kits have you had any problems with them? What about the 37's? Are they any good with the stock gearing? How about the clearance, do the 37's rub? Also has anyone had the toyo m/t's long enough to know how they wear yet? Thanks.
6" with 37" is perfect. I don't rub anywhere.
I looked at superlift, skyjacker, and tuff country.
the skyjacer only had 5" of lift and was worried it might rub at full articulation with the wheels turned.
the difference bettween the tuff country and superlift was the front springs. the superlift comes with them the tuff country uses spacers.
I went with the tuff country because until I am a little closer to pay off the truck is not going to be wheeled hard. I mean I will take it in the mud and sand but I won't beat on the truck. I thought it road pretty decent stock. People will tell you that spacers suck but I have had no issues. If I ever want to weel my truck more seriously I will just replace the springs then.
I was worried about the gearing at first but with 600lbs of torque no issues. converter locks at about 57mph. has no proablem staying lockup up hills. I don't know If I would get better milage with 4:10's or not. I get 17-18 hwy 15-16 mix 13-14 town only.
I have 15k on my toyo MT's and you cant' even tell they have worn any yet. truck rides very nice I think. best riding truck this big I have ever driven.

4.5" Lift clears 37's fine with the RIGHT WHEELS! You will need 6" BS on a 9" wheel. 5" min for a 8" wheel...assuming you are using a 12.5 tire.
I would bet that I could make 37's hit in the front or rear of the front fenders even with a 6" lift with wheels that stick out further than I suggested above...it only takes 1.5" more articulation to do so than a 4.5" lift...which is easy.
DON'T let you outside edge of your tire stick out too far...ie to little backspacing and wide wheels or you will end up with a trailer queen.
