Stuttering on acceleration?

I was headed home last night on the Interstate when a guy in a new Hemi pulls along side and starts the usual bs. He wouldn't go away and traffic was really light so I thought what the heck, dialed up the TST to 7/7 (no stack) and proceeded to kick his butt, but I noticed that on heavy acceleration a stuttering type feel? The truck pulled really hard through this feeling, but never the less it was there. so when I got off the Interstate I tried a couple of things, turned off the Snow, tried it still there, backed TST to 3/3 still there, turned of TST stutter went away.

Do you guys think its a fuel issue? Maybe filters partially plugged?
I don't have my gauges installed yet so I don't know about pressures.

The Glacier pump seems to be working fine?
I guess maybe I should check pressure and volume but was curious if any of you have felt this before or had any ideas?

Thanks to all,

Lance

So you have all those pricey mods to your shiney new truck, but NO gauges?

It could me a multitude of things. Fuel sounds like the most likely bet, but it could also be electronic too.

No Guages?!?!?!?!?!? Cheap insurance indeed compared to the money you've already spent.

it may of been drive line shudder and not the engine. when mine did it I thought it was the engine. now that I lowered the driveline I still get some when I get on it.

Could be Rail dropping on 7 TE but you'd hear that as much as feel it....If you have a center carrier bearing...a little drive line wobble on acceleration is not unusual....dropping it 1inch will help.....could be axle wrap... traction bars cure that or taking your over loads and strapping them to the spring stack on both ends.... Takes a bit of trial and error....these are good places to start...get yourself a rail pressure gauge from Doug....excellent and we should all have them. ks

CQ, That was my first thought, Then I saw built tranny, then I bit my lip. If the truck was working with no fuel shortage and lots of air any tranny on 7x7 is making a lot of tranny slipping torque and if line pressure was light and clutches weren't red altos or blues....or only a little better than stock. ks
